1) why did you start crossfit?
I started Crossfit because I was living in Vail and was working on networking for my chiropractic clinic and wanted to do movement screens for CrossFit Venture. They told me I could do it if I tried a free week of CrossFit. So I actually did it as a business networking deal. Little did I know that it would change my life forever.
2) what motivates you to continue?
The fact that as soon as I think I finally have something figured out or have mastered a movement, something else is thrown my way and I am humbled and I have to keep working to try and learn a new skill or an advanced movement. When I first started I could not do pull up and my coach told me I would be doing muscle ups eventually. I laughed in her face. She told me that if I work at my pull ups and then get chest to bar pull ups and dips that a muscle up is in the future. She could see my potential when I couldn't see my own. That is the power of a coach. And that is exactly why I coach. To Elevate Your Potential.
3) Why did you chose to coach?
I was a Division I strength and conditioning coach for the University of Colorado so coaching was in my blood. I never actually though I would be a lifetime coach because I was actually there just to finish my Masters Degree becauseI wanted to know how to bridge rehab to performance. Fast forward a few years my CrossFit Coach in Seattle planted the seed in my head that he thought I should start my coaching internship and coach for them. That was exactly the push that I needed to get rolling. I continue to choose to coach becuase of fire that each of you ignites in me. You are the fire that grows my passion for helping others and always striving to be a difference maker. I continue to choose to coach because each and every day my athletes amaze me and push me to be better physically, mentally, and emotionally. You bring laughter to my belly and happy tears to my eyes... and that is why I coach.
