Motivation Monday- What is your "Why"-Cheri Jerger

Each and everyone of us walked through the door at EHP for a different reason. The reason "WHY" is unique to us as individuals. What you don't know is your "WHY" might be the motivation for someone else to start or even continue walking through the door.

Why do you Crossfit?

I was bored! I had been a member at most of the gyms around the Fargo-Moorhead area. I had tried all the aerobic and other workout classes, running and even home workouts. I was looking for something completely different to do and challenge myself. I was also turning 40 soon and was determined to step up my activity. My husband worked with Lucas Wolford at the time and kept telling me about a CrossFit gym very close to our house. I drove by several times and then finally one afternoon I stopped and went in. Joy was so welcoming and willing to answer all of my questions. I ended up at a boot camp class that same night.

What motivates you to continue?

I love the variety of things we do in CrossFit. I am never bored and constantly challenged. When you reach those little goals and PR’s it only motivates me even more to do better. My 2 girls also motivate me to stay active and strong and that you can do anything you set your mind to. The coaches and friends that I have made at EHP also keep me coming back. It’s the one hour that I take each day to focus on myself and to try and be better than yesterday!
