Science Saturday: Thumb Around the Rig?

This week has been a rather eventful and probably a little unsettling for most of you. Probably even frustrating. With the gyms new approach to progressions and scaled options, it is understandable to feel this way.

One change that seems to be one of the hardest to adapt to is, the thumb around the rig. Whats the point? We haven't been doing it for so long, so why start now? Think about the first time you were told to hook grip the barbell. I can confidently say that probably 75% of you thought it was weird, it didn't feel right or you just didn't like it. Look at you now, chances are you are doing it now without even thinking about it.
