I am a relentless sports medicine provider. I am not satisfied until you are playing at your best. I am sure many people will claim this, but how do they show you?
I am a huge proponent of test, treat, re-test, treat, re-test, treat until necessary for my athletes to improve what they came into me for.
In certain cases the severity of someone's injury does not allow this type of treatment practice, but in mechanical pain instances I want you leaving my office with a 50-80% improvement, minimum.
What do I do in my office? Whatever is necessary under my scope of practice that can help you perform better. My understanding of the mechanics necessary to complete your sports specific movements are the baseline of where my treatment comes from. If I don't understand your sport, chances are I will research it or even sometimes go take classes on it so I can better understand you.
In the past I have gotten myself into boxing, jujitsu, Muay Thai, Mountain biking, race walking, tennis, golf, paddling and many other things becuase I didn't fully understand the movement requirements for such sports. Is this necessary? No. I do this because if I can get inside the head of an athlete to feel and know what they need to do I can relate better to them.
The video below is with a professional beach volleyball athlete who entered with mechanical shoulder pain. T
hese are the last two minutes of our treatment because I wanted to ensure that he was able to go onto the court and play at his highest ability without the hinderance of restrictions in his shoulder. Mission accomplished.
I started a membership based sports medicine practice model for people who are looking to get more from their provider to ensure they can play at the highest of their ability!
