As I looked back on my 12 week experience through the Premier Mindset Program I learned alot... and here is my TOP 10

  1. I don’t have control over what thoughts enter my brain, only that I have the control to choose which I FOCUS on.

  2. Intrinsic Motivation is a natural extension of my vision, passion and values. Post your values and your passions where you can clearly see them. You are more likely to act accordingly.

  3. Everyone could use their own personal highlight reel.

  4. You can improve your performance by up to 20% by just using imagery.

  5. Emotions will happen. You can’t control them, but you can control how you react to them.

  6. You can’t just feel confident. But by physically doing things you do when you are confident will help you find it.

  7. Find what your peak performance level is and then learn how to get there.

  8. Mindfulness- allowing yourself to be frustrated at times and then focus on growing.

  9. Your goals should look like a pyramid- process goals on the bottom, performance goals in the middle, and outcome goal on the top.

  10. It’s true what they say 90% mental and 10% physical.

Over the next few weeks I will be breaking down these top 10 and how I approached them. Today I will go over the first one because it was such a big step for me!

  1. I don’t have control over what thoughts enter my brain, only that I have the control to choose which I FOCUS on.

  2. Are you hard on yourself? I am extremely hard on myself and would often times punish myself for thoughts that come into my head. I would think to myself, “How could I think that?” I would judge those thoughts that come into my head and get annoyed that I would ever let that happen. Enter the Premier Mindset program. They allowed me to understand that I will have up to 70,000 thoughts per day. 80% of those thoughts are in the past or the future. Usually thoughts that are of the past come with resentment and anger and the thoughts that are of the future typically hold anxiety. Who wants to live in resentment or anxiety? Of the 20% of the thoughts in the present, over half of those thoughts relevant… and only half of the relevant thoughts are positive. We do not get to choose the thoughts that come into our heads, but we do get to choose which ones we focus on. Enter the focus window.

We have the power to let thoughts move through this window if they are in the past/future/irrelevant/negative but we must train our brains into recognizing these things so that we might make changes for the better. Tracking your distractions, triggers and actions/behaviors are one way to start. I started with 4 main distractions. I would challenge you to do the same!
